Our Core Values (Click the [+] to learn more.)
Christ / Bible |
We believe the entire Bible finds its fullest meaning and ultimate development in Jesus Christ. The Bible, understood in the light of Christ, is normative for our preaching and teaching and for our every day lives. (2 Tim. 3:16, 4:2; 1 Cor. 1:1-2; Mk. 4:33-34; Rev. 14:6-12) |
Relevance |
We believe our church should be culturally relevant---in our worship, outreach, and classes. We encourage creativity in methods and ministries and the use of the arts for God's purposes. (1 Cor. 9:19-23; Ex. 35:33, 36:2) |
Discipleship |
Our goal is for Christ's love and example to permeate all that we do and want to become. The pursuit of full devotion to Christ and His cause is normal for every believer. Full devotion includes stewarding our time, talents, resources, and bodies to further the kingdom of God. (Phil. 2:1-5; Matt. 5-7; 20:24-28; 1 Cor. 6:19-20) |
People |
People matter to God, therefore they matter to us. We welcome and love all people regardless of race, religion, dress, financial resources, or spiritual maturity. We believe that unity in diversity presents a beautiful picture of God. (Matt. 7:12; Luke 5:31) |
Unchurched |
Our primary target is to reach unchurched seekers; those who are searching for meaning in their lives, not attending church on a regular basis, and not actively trusting Jesus Christ. (Luke 15, 19:10; Matt.18:14) |
Community |
Our goal is to develop a caring community of believers in which people will feel known, valued, and united for common goals. Through this community, God empowers people to use their unique gifts in godly service to others. (Acts 2:42-47; 1 Cor. 12-13) |
Small Groups |
Life change best happens in small groups where relationships are open, loving, and accountable with emphasis on prayer, Bible study, mutual encouragement and service. (Acts 2:42-47; Luke 6:13-16; Heb. 10:24-25) |
Family |
Marriage andthe family are divinely-created models of divine love, so we support and seek to strengthen marriages and family relationships. (Gen. 2:4; Deut. 6:7; 1 Tim. 3:4) |
Excellence |
We are committed to excellence in everything we do. it honors God, reveals His character, attracts, and inspires people. (Eccl. 9:10; 1 Cor. 10:31) |
Sabbath |
Sabbath is a divinely-appointed celebration of creation, liberation, and redemption. Sabbath-keeping celebrates God's grace, faithfulness, and our dependence. (Gen. 2:1-3; Ex. 20:8-11; Heb. 4; |
Worship |
We worship with the expectation that god will be among us in our services to hearten and heal, and we welcome our friends to encounter God with us. (Mt. 18:20; PS. 95-100) |
Organization |
We support the beliefs, world missions, organizations, and institutions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. We desire to do our part in furthering the work of the Church around the world. Matt. 28:18-20; Rev. 14:6-12) |
